What is the North Star Youth Exchange?North Star Youth Exchange encompasses two Rotary districts (5950 and 5960), which are large geographical areas in south-central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. The area includes the entire Twin Cities metropolitan area, Rochester, St. Cloud, and Mankato (Duluth is part of the Central States Rotary Youth Exchange program). The outer part of our districts includes Albert Lea, Hayward, WI, Alexandria, and Redwood Falls. Throughout this area, local Rotary clubs provide this international opportunity to eager, ambitious, and inquisitive high school students — both to come to our area to experience American life, or to go abroad to one of 33 countries around the world. |

Opening Your Heart and HomeWithout the willingness and sincerity of families who have opened their hearts and homes to students they have never met, the Rotary Youth Exchange Program would not exist. In an ever-changing world, it is important that we expose our children, our students and ourselves to areas and people unlike us—it’s how we open our eyes to a global community that shares the same hopes and dreams that we do. In the landscape of today, adults and children alike must learn about others and reaffirm their faith that people from all over the world are good. What better way to do that than becoming a host family? |

ClubRunner provided some tools for reworking our home page, so I have begun the process. You are still encouraged to "Friend" Granite Rotary - St. Cloud on Facebook to be able to follow the club happenings, but I will occasionally add a story or photo album here. Also Chelle is using the site to list upcoming Speakers.

“Whether we are reaching out to those in our own clubs, or reaching halfway across the world, personal involvement has always been fundamental to Rotarian service. When we Lend a Hand, we focus on this personal involvement and we celebrate our shared humanity. Working together, ready and willing to help our brothers and sisters in need, one hand can become many and there is no limit to what the helping hands of Rotary can accomplish.” — 2003 International Assembly, Anaheim, California, USA
